I went the whole route: prayed the sinner’s prayer, etc. I stayed born again for fear of arousing the anger of a jealous God. Silly me! I think, now, or rather, I believe, that being born again is simply about making a choice: I have chosen to believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I choose to believe that He purchased my new relationship with the Father with His blood. But do you know what? That choice wouldn’t be possible without the Holy Spirit.

So yes, my mother badgered me into it and I was scared spitless for a while. So the “why”?

“No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:44.

The Holy Spirit is my witness. You don’t need another.
